Behind OUTLINE stands none other than Yoshimasa Kikuchi – publisher of Japan's leading watch magazines such as Power Watch, LowBEAT, and Time Gear. For decades, he accompanied, tested, and described the watch world – until he decided to realize his vision himself. With OUTLINE, he builds watches that breathe the spirit of the 1940s to 1960s: a homage to the golden age of mechanics, stylishly interpreted for today.

Outline Second Setting – a modern homage to the historic Weems clock
This watch is a faithful reproduction of the legendary Weems pilot's watch from the 1940s – equipped with a bidirectional rotating bezel displaying 60 seconds.
The Outline Second Setting is based on the so-called "Weems Second Setting Watch," originally developed for pilots in 1929. The model shown here is based on the second generation from the 1940s and bears the name of Colonel PVH Weems —a pioneer of air navigation in the US Navy who significantly shaped aviation.
The watch features a bidirectional rotating bezel with a 60-second scale and a special locking mechanism that prevents accidental adjustment during time synchronization. This mechanism is operated via a distinctive pusher at 4 o'clock, while the regular crown for setting the time is located at 3 o'clock.
There are two dial variants to choose from for this edition:
– Black with 10-second scale on the bezel
– Blue with gradient and 5-second steps
Each version gives the watch its own visual identity – from functional and technical to sporty and elegant.
A special technical highlight is the replica of the historic bezel locking system , originally used on Longines watches for the Royal Air Force. Instead of a simple click, two interlocking claws are used here – robust, reliable, and historically inspired.

1) Authentic bezel locking
Faithfully reproduced based on historical Longines models from the 1940s: Two lateral latches securely engage the bezel.
2) Flat bezel and slightly curved K1 safety glass
For an authentic vintage look, the bezel's surface is kept flat and without any tilt. The crystal is made of scratch-resistant K1 mineral glass and is slightly domed (dome-shaped).
3) Lovingly aged numerals – vintage charm down to the last detail
The Arabic numerals on the dial are designed with particular care: First, they are printed in white to create a slight three-dimensional effect . Then, a specially blended luminous material with a patina effect is applied, giving the numerals an authentically aged, almost burnt appearance —in the style of historic pilot's watches.
A deliberate vintage detail: The luminous material used is intentionally tuned to emit only a very faint glow , even under strong light – much like aged radium or early phosphors. Only the rose gold hands exhibit a subtle luminosity.
Please note: The reduced luminosity is not a defect , but an expression of the desired retro look.
4) High-quality automatic movement Miyota 9039
The 9000 caliber from Miyota (Citizen Group) is one of the finest Japanese automatic movements: 28,800 vph, slim profile, high accuracy, and international reliability. The 9039 model is particularly slim.
