King Seiko Vanac 5626-7160 – Original from October 1972

This rare King Seiko Vanac dates from October 1972 and represents one of the most exciting design lines Seiko has ever produced. The Vanac models were developed by Daini Seikosha 's innovation department at the time, which was in intense competition with Suwa Seikosha . This internal rivalry between Daini (King Seiko) and Suwa (Grand Seiko) resulted in mechanically outstanding, bold, and stylistically progressive watch models in the early 1970s. The Vanac line was the avant-garde within King Seiko – luxurious, vibrant in color, technically sophisticated, and visually distinctive.

Characteristic of these models are the highly reflective sunburst dials, the elaborately designed, gold-colored indices, and above all, the striking, nine-faceted acrylic crystal , which gives the watch a prismatic, almost jewel-like appearance.
