Seiko Prospex Speedtimer Solar Chronograph "Mint" SSC965P1

The SSC965P1 is a Prospex Solar Chronograph in new Panda color variants in delicate pastel shades. The designs remain firmly rooted in the Seiko chronograph tradition. The motorsport inspiration is subtly evident in the details and now, above all, in the color scheme. This is based on the neo-classic aesthetic of 80s and 90s sports cars, known as youngtimers. These are vehicles from a time when technology and personality had a special balance. A piece of lived automotive culture that Seiko is now bringing to the wrist.

With the SSC965P1, Seiko revives this design DNA and translates it into a modern Prospex watch for everyday use. The striking orange dial ensures maximum presence and remains very easy to read due to its clear layout. Typical Speedtimer: everything appears functional, uncluttered, and exactly as you would expect from a chronograph with motorsport and toolwatch genes.

Inside, the V192 solar caliber is at work. It charges via light, runs for up to six months when fully charged, and impresses with an everyday precision of ±15 seconds per month. In addition to the 60-minute chronograph, the watch offers a 24-hour display, a small seconds hand for the running time, and a power reserve indicator on the sub-dial at 6 o'clock – practical and genuinely tool-like, because you always have an eye on the charge level.

The case measures 39 mm and looks sporty, but not oversized. The sapphire crystal underscores the watch's high-quality aspiration, while LumiBrite on the hands ensures good readability even in poor light conditions. With 10 bar water resistance, the SSC963P1 is a robust, versatile watch – and at the same time a real eye-catcher with history.
