The Milli-Width Gauge MHJ001 is the tool used in Japan to measure watch straps – developed by a manufacturer who knows what they're doing: BAMBI has been producing watch straps for almost all Japanese watch brands for decades. The gauge measures precisely in the range of 6 to 26 mm and answers the two questions on which every strap order depends:

What is the lug width of my watch? (distance between the lugs)
What is the buckle width of my strap? (crucial if an existing buckle or deployment clasp is to be reused)

The buckle width, in particular, is regularly overlooked when buying a strap – with the result that the new strap fits the watch, but the old buckle does not fit the new strap. With the BAMBI gauge, both measurements are accurately determined in seconds.

What distinguishes this tool from European counterparts:

Strap width gauges are hardly available as standalone quality tools in Europe – most people make do with a ruler or caliper, which is inaccurate and cumbersome for curved lugs and mounted spring bars.
