Design and background
The Casio Quartz Lithium represents the transition from the early quartz watches of the 1970s to the multifunctional digital models of the 1980s. Casio combined, for the first time , slim case designs , energy-saving LCD displays , and a lithium battery that offered a significantly longer runtime than conventional button cells.
The clear, hexagonal case design and the minimalist display with its separate date indicator influenced the style of many subsequent models, such as the Casio A159 or F-81 . This makes the 155B817 one of the archetypal representatives of the early Japanese digital watch – functional, robust, and timelessly elegant.
Condition
The watch is fully functional, and the display has good contrast. The case shows signs of wear consistent with its age, but has deliberately not been polished to preserve its authenticity. All buttons respond cleanly, and the strap is original and closes securely.
A well-preserved collector's item with classic 1980s charm.
