Citizen VEGA Junction Quartz – Ref. 5510-K04361 CKK – November 1992 – 10 bar, Date – Two-tone steel bracelet

This Citizen VEGA Junction most likely dates from November 1992 and is a characteristic example of Citizen's everyday quartz watches of the early 1990s.

VEGA was a brand used by Citizen for the Japanese market and stood for functional, modern and affordable watches. The Junction model line was part of this program and combined typical Japanese usability with the characteristic design of the time.

Inside works the Citizen quartz caliber 5510 with date display. The serial number 2110201 indicates manufacturing in November of a year ending in 2. Due to the temporal classification of the VEGA Junction series and the caliber used, manufacturing in November 1992 is most probable.

Design and Character

The champagne-colored dial features a complete wreath of black Arabic numerals with fine dot minute markers at the edge. Slim gold-colored hands pick up the warm hue of the dial. The date window is classically positioned at 3 o'clock.

Above the center of the dial is the inscription JUNCTION, below it VEGA, and the water resistance rating of the time W.R. 10 bar.

The round, polished stainless steel case with short lugs is deliberately kept compact. With a diameter of 37.7 mm, a mere 7.7 mm in height, and a weight of around 60 grams including the bracelet, the watch is exceptionally comfortable to wear.

The original two-tone steel bracelet with gold-colored center links picks up the coloring of the hands and dial, giving the otherwise understated watch a typical early-1990s character.

The watch was therefore assembled in Korea under the responsibility of Citizen. This was not unusual for various Citizen models destined for the Asian market at that time and is part of the history of this specimen.

The watch is in good used condition and shows age-appropriate signs of wear.
