ELFOLK Lillie – Moonphase Triple Calendar - Full Set · Unworn (JDM)

ELFOLK Lillie – Moonphase Triple Calendar - Full Set · Unworn (JDM)

This watch is the first "Lillie" model from the Japanese microbrand ELFOLK.
The model combines an exceptionally flat, integrated steel case with a triple calendar and moon phase complication, unusual for this price range – implemented in a distinctly Japanese-influenced design.

The ELFOLK Brand – Japanese Microbrand with a European Idea

ELFOLK (エルフォルク) is a young, independent Japanese microbrand from Miyagi Prefecture (宮城県), founded around 2021/2022.
The brand name was deliberately chosen to be unusual: it is based on the German word "Erfolg" (success), which the founder phonetically Japanized to make it easy for Japanese speakers to pronounce, while conveying a positive, universal meaning.

ELFOLK conceptually stands for:

  • Independent design instead of retro copies,
  • Japanese aesthetics (和柄, Wagara) on the dial,
  • Technically sophisticated functions at moderate prices,
  • Manufacturing, assembly, and quality control in Japan.

With its first model, Lillie, ELFOLK made a remarkable debut: an integrated sports watch with calendar complications, usually found in much higher price segments.

Model History: Lillie (First Generation)

The ELFOLK Lillie is the brand's debut model.
It was introduced before the later revision (Lillie 2) and is characterized by a particularly balanced case/dial design.

Characteristics of the first generation include:

  • The very flat profile,
  • The clearly structured, symmetrical dial,
  • A strong emphasis on traditional Japanese patterns,
  • An integrated steel bracelet with a seamless transition to the case.

The model was produced only in small quantities and was primarily intended for the Japanese market.

Dial & Design – Japanese Symbolism

The silver-white dial features the traditional Japanese pattern 「工字繋ぎ(こうじつなぎ / Kōji-tsunagi)」.
This pattern, consisting of interconnected "工" characters, symbolically represents:

  • Constancy
  • Connection
  • Longevity

A deliberately placed red 12 o'clock index references classic design elements of Japanese wristwatches from the 1960s/70s and adds a subtle splash of color.

The moon phase at 6 o'clock is harmoniously integrated into the dial, giving the watch additional depth without appearing playful.
