With the AirField, Formex translates its proprietary Field platform into the world of aviation. Rather than replicating a classic pilot's watch, the timepiece embraces the principles that have made pilot's watches functional from the start: instant legibility, robustness, lightweight design, and the absence of anything superfluous. The result sits intentionally between categories – robust enough for a true field watch, clearly influenced by aviation, and practical enough for everyday wear.

The dial is completely new. Wide, sword-shaped hour and minute hands give the display a strong presence, while the triangle at 12 o'clock, flanked by two dots, allows for instant orientation. The long, slender seconds hand features an airplane-shaped counterweight – a detail only discovered upon closer inspection. The surface is finely grained and embossed, with the Arabic numerals recessed and individually hand-filled with luminous material. An inclined rehaut rises toward the sapphire crystal, creating depth at the edge of the dial without increasing the watch's height.

Reverse contrast

Desert Sand is the most distinctive variant in the collection. The cream-colored dial reverses the contrast ratio: numerals, indices, and hands are black and filled with blackened Super-LumiNova, which remains dark during the day and glows at night. The seconds hand features a red tip. Together with the sandblasted titanium, this results in a warm, distinctly vintage-inspired appearance compared to the other three dials.

Titanium, hardened to 900 Vickers

The 40 mm case is crafted from Grade 2 titanium and, including the movement, weighs only 54 grams. A special surface hardening process brings it to approximately 900 Vickers – about five times harder than conventional stainless steel. Featuring a screw-down crown, 150 meters of water resistance, and a classic radial engine with propeller on the solid case back.

Sellita SW200-2 Power+

Inside beats the upgraded Sellita SW200-2 Power+, offering a 65-hour power reserve instead of the previous 41 hours. This means the watch can be left over an entire weekend and will continue to run, eliminating the need to reset the time and date.

Bolgheri leather strap with carbon folding clasp

This version comes with the Bolgheri leather strap and Formex's patented carbon fiber folding clasp. The stepless fine adjustment of 7 mm allows the fit to be adapted throughout the day without choosing a different strap hole or taking the watch off. The strap can be changed without tools via quick release; the lug width is 20 mm – meaning the lightweight nylon Velcro straps from the Field collection are also compatible.
