Formex REEF GMT Automatic COSC 300M "Black/Gold-plated" 42mm

The Formex Reef GMT builds on the concept of the original Reef, expanding it with a full-fledged GMT function that allows tracking up to three time zones simultaneously. The robust 42mm stainless steel case combines high-quality finishing with patented, tool-free interchangeable bezel and bracelet systems.

The watch is delivered at the stated price exclusively on the Formex solid link stainless steel bracelet with a quick-release system and integrated fine adjustment. Optionally available stainless steel mesh, leather, and rubber straps, as well as their respective clasps, are not included.

Inside, a COSC-certified Sellita SW330-2 GMT automatic movement of chronometer quality works. The decorated movement with its skeletonized Formex rotor is visible through the sapphire crystal case back.

Thanks to its slim caliber, the Reef GMT measures only 11.4 mm in height and appears particularly slender on the wrist with a perceived height of approximately 9.4 mm. The double gasket construction and screw-down crown ensure water resistance of 300 meters.

GMT function

The central 24-hour GMT hand allows for the display of a second time zone. In conjunction with the bidirectional rotating 24-hour bezel, a third time zone can also be read.

This makes the Reef GMT particularly suitable for travel, international business appointments, and keeping in touch across different time zones.

Bidirectional rotating GMT bezel

Depending on the version, the GMT bezel is made of particularly scratch-resistant zirconium oxide ceramic or stainless steel.

Variants with a white scale are filled with Swiss BGW9 Super-LumiNova and glow blue in the dark.

The bidirectional 48-click mechanism allows for precise setting of the third time zone. Thanks to the patented Formex system, the bezel can be removed without tools, cleaned, or replaced with another compatible Reef bezel.

Additional bezels are not included in the scope of delivery and can be purchased separately as an option.

Dial

The dials of the Reef GMT are created in Formex's in-house manufacture in the Swiss Jura. Each color variant receives a hand-applied dégradé gradient that darkens towards the edge and is combined with a fine sunburst finish.

The triangular rehaut indices are hand-applied and harmonize with the broad, faceted hands. Polished chamfers and brushed surfaces create a varied play of light and emphasize the high-quality craftsmanship.

Hands and indices are generously filled with BGW9 Super-LumiNova Grade A, ensuring clear legibility day and night. The applied Formex logo completes the overall look.

COSC-certified GMT automatic movement

Inside works the Swiss Made Sellita SW330-2 automatic movement of chronometer quality.

The movement features:

Each movement undergoes the official COSC chronometer test and receives an individual chronometer number. Formex also checks the movement after assembly to ensure high precision of the fully assembled watch.

Stainless steel bracelet and wearing comfort

The included solid link stainless steel bracelet is equipped with a quick-release system and a clasp with integrated fine adjustment.

The fine adjustment allows for comfortable adaptation of the bracelet length to changes in wrist circumference throughout the day. Thanks to the quick-release system, the bracelet can be detached from the watch within seconds without tools.
