Original Grand Seiko Replacement Dial for 61GS Hi-Beat 6146-8000

Extremely rare, original, unused New Old Stock (NOS) replacement dial for the Grand Seiko 61GS with day and date display. Marked on the reverse side or on the lower edge of the dial with JAPAN 6146‑8000T AD.

Silver dial with applied, multi-faceted indices, double index at 12 o'clock, and combined day/date window at 3 o'clock. Below the center is the applied GS emblem, beneath which is the inscription GRAND SEIKO with the stylized S of Suwa Seikosha.

Regarding the design: This dial still bears the pure inscription "GRAND SEIKO" without the later addition "HI‑BEAT 36000" and without "AUTOMATIC" below the Seiko logo. It is therefore the early, significantly cleaner dial variant of the series — the more sought-after version among collectors.

Historical Background: The 61GS was released in 1968 and was the first automatic Grand Seiko with a Hi‑Beat movement (36,000 vibrations/hour, 5 Hz). It was created at the Suwa Seikosha factory and replaced the 62GS there, while concurrently the 45GS family was produced at Daini Seikosha — the internal competition between both factories is still considered the driving force behind the quality of the Grand Seiko and King Seiko series. The case and dial design follows Taro Tanaka's "Grammar of Design," which continues to shape Grand Seiko today.

Condition: Unworn spare part from old stock. Applied indices and embossments are complete and sharp, printing is clean. Due to storage, slight aging/isolated specks are visible on the dial base (see photos, these are part of the product description).
