INDEN est. 1582 is the oldest manufacturer of Koshu Inden – lacquered deerskin from Kofu, Japan. For over 400 years, soft deerskin has been finished with Japanese lacquer, a technique originally used for samurai armor and equipment. Today, it is used to create elegant everyday accessories that combine traditional Japanese patterns with modern design.

This slim folded wallet is a narrower version of a classic bifold wallet and is handcrafted in Japan by experienced artisans. The exterior is made of soft, supple deerskin with a patent finish, while the interior is lined with robust cowhide. With eight card slots and two bill compartments, the wallet offers ample space for everyday essentials while remaining pleasantly compact and discreetly slipping into a jacket or trouser pocket. With use, the leather will become even more supple and develop a rich, elegant sheen over time.

The BK x BK (black on black) color variant appears particularly understated and elegant – the traditional pattern only truly comes to life in the interplay of light. The Shippou motif "New Seven Treasures" refers to the seven treasures of Buddhism – silver, gold, coral, lapis lazuli, agate, shell, and amber. In Japanese design, this pattern represents connection, good relationships, and harmony – a beautiful symbolic touch for a wallet that is used daily.
