INDEN est. 1582 is the oldest manufacturer of Koshu Inden – lacquered deerskin from Kofu, Japan. For over 400 years, soft deerskin has been finished with Japanese lacquer, a technique originally used for samurai armor and equipment. Today, it is used to create elegant everyday accessories that combine traditional Japanese patterns with modern design.

The Seven Treasures pattern (Shippou) refers to the "seven treasures" of Buddhism: silver, gold, coral, lapis lazuli, agate, shell, and amber – rare and precious materials. The interlocking circular motif symbolizes eternity, connection, and harmony in relationships with partners, family, and friends.
