INDEN est. 1582 is the oldest manufacturer of Koshu Inden – lacquered deerskin from Kofu, Japan. For over 400 years, soft deerskin has been finished with Japanese lacquer, a technique originally used for samurai armor and equipment. Today, it is used to create elegant everyday accessories that combine traditional Japanese patterns with modern design.

The Zipped Coin Purse (Large) “Chevron-S” is an elegant, compact everyday wallet – ideal for keeping loose change, cards, and a few small essentials organized without carrying a bulky wallet. Its slim design makes it perfect for smaller handbags, clutches, or jacket pockets, and it looks great both day and night.

Inside, the coin purse features a separate zippered compartment for coins or keys, as well as two side slip pockets for cards or small notes. The exterior is crafted from durable deerskin, while the interior is lined with supple cowhide – both handcrafted by Japanese artisans and finished with lacquer. Over time, the leather will soften, adapting to the wearer's skin and developing a subtle sheen.

The chevron pattern takes its form from arrow fletching. In Japan, it symbolizes a bow on the battlefield and is used as a lucky charm in ceremonies such as weddings or graduations. It represents determination: once released, the arrow does not return. In the BK x IV (Black × Ivory) color variant, the pattern combines clear contrasts with a modern, graphic look – elegant, but not loud.
