NOS mainspring by the Japanese brand "Indian" – Permanent Power Steel / Best Mainsprings, original from old workshop stock. Offered is a single piece (1 piece) from an original box of twelve ("One Dozen").

This mainspring is suitable for Citizen (シチズン) calibers of the specified size and serves as a historically correct replacement for restoring vintage Citizen hand-wound movements.

About the brand / manufacturer:
"Indian" (Japanese インデアン全舞, where 全舞 is an onomatopoeic wordplay for zenmai = mainspring) was a Japanese mainspring brand from the Shōwa era, distributed as a spare part for watchmaker workshops. The advertising and accompanying leaflet promotes the material as "Permanent Power Steel" – a high-quality spring steel that is supposed to maintain permanent elasticity, be rust-free, and not break. A characteristic feature was a color-coded strength system, with different spring strengths being mixed in one package:

• 強 (strong) – Red
• 中 (medium) – Silver
• 弱 (weak) – Gold

In addition, there were special types for small movements (小虫), large movements (大虫), and center-second/three-hand movements (中三針). The accompanying leaflet also refers to the growing foreign demand – a typical marketing strategy of Japanese supplier industries in those years. The original packaging and the Indian chief graphic also make these mainsprings a decorative collector's item in the history of Japanese watch accessories.
