This Kentex JSDF (Japan Air Self-Defense Force) is a characteristic military model from the Japanese watch brand Kentex and part of the well-known JSDF series, which was specially developed by the Japanese brand in cooperation with members of the Japan Self-Defense Forces.

The model incorporates typical design elements of military watches: excellent readability, robust construction, 100m water resistance, and a clearly structured dial.

The blue dial features several characteristic elements of the 航空自衛隊 (Kōkū Jieitai – Japan Air Self-Defense Force), including the designation JASDF as well as the military emblem on the lower part of the dial.

The watch was produced exclusively for the Japanese market and thus belongs to the typical JDM models (Japanese Domestic Market), which were not officially distributed in Europe.

The Kentex brand

Kentex is an independent Japanese watch brand founded by Kenji Hashimoto.

The models each incorporate typical colors, emblems, and design features of the respective unit.

They are not officially standardized as military service watches, but are developed in cooperation with members of the armed forces and are based on real requirements such as high readability, robust construction, and reliable technology.

Collector's Note

Kentex is still a relatively unknown brand outside of Japan, but among connoisseurs of Japanese watches, it enjoys a good reputation for solid craftsmanship and interesting designs.

Especially the JSDF series is interesting for collectors of Japanese military and tool watches, as it establishes a direct connection to the Japan Self-Defense Forces and many models were sold exclusively in the Japanese market.
