King Seiko 45KS — Dial 4502-7000T AD (NOS)
Original King Seiko Replacement Dial for 45KS Hi-Beat 4502-7000
Extremely rare, original, unused New Old Stock (NOS) replacement dial for the hand-wound King Seiko 45KS. Marked with JAPAN 4502‑7000T AD.
Silver dial with applied, broadly faceted hour markers and a date window at 6 o'clock – the characteristic arrangement of the 4502 series. Applied KS emblem with the inscription HI‑BEAT and the lightning bolt symbol of Daini Seikosha, opposite the applied SEIKO logo.
Historical Background: The King Seiko was the sister line to Grand Seiko and originated at Daini Seikosha in Tokyo, while Grand Seiko was produced at Suwa Seikosha in Nagano. Seiko deliberately pitted both factories against each other: they developed independent caliber families, competed separately in chronometer competitions in Neuchâtel and Geneva, and pushed each other to ever higher levels of accuracy. The 4502 caliber, a product of this rivalry, doubled the frequency to 36,000 vibrations per hour compared to its predecessor 44, and offered a hacking seconds function as well as the famous instantaneous date change at midnight. Many collectors consider the 45KS to be the technically equivalent, outwardly more understated alternative to the Grand Seiko of the same years.
Condition: Unworn spare part from old stock. Indices complete, print and embossing clean, dial surface even.
Suitable for: King Seiko 4502‑7000 (and depending on the version 4502‑7001 – please compare reference before purchase). Dimensions: Diameter approx. 27.5 mm.
