Kuretake Kindai Maki-e – Aka Fuji

The Kuretake Kindai Maki-e series presents modern Maki-e lacquer art in 18 designs, inspired by Japanese culture, symbolism, and folklore. The "Aka Fuji" (Red Fuji) model is a tribute to Katsushika Hokusai's world-famous woodcut, which depicts Mount Fuji in the morning light in vibrant red – a symbol of Japan's natural beauty and spiritual power.

The detailed depiction of the iconic mountain is transferred to the fountain pen in the traditional style and refined with a protective layer of clear Urushi lacquer. The result: a writing instrument with cultural depth, elegant lines, and exceptional haptics.
