Kuretake Kindai Maki-e – Edazakura
The Kuretake Kindai Maki-e series expresses the fascinating world of Japanese symbolism, culture, and nature in a modern way. The model “Edazakura” (枝桜 – Cherry Blossom Branch) depicts delicately blooming cherry branches – a symbol of transience, beauty, and hope deeply rooted in Japanese culture.
Inspired by 17th-century Rimpa painting, the floral elements are applied using Kindai Maki-e technique and then protected with transparent Urushi clear lacquer. This creates a writing instrument of rare elegance and high suitability for everyday use.
Crafted from a single piece of aluminum using a deep-drawing process, the fountain pen impresses with its seamless form, light weight, and a comfortably balanced feel. The “Edazakura” models are perfectly suited for both daily use and as a special gift.
