Kuretake Kindai Maki-e – Sakura Uta

The Kuretake Kindai Maki-e series combines modern Japanese Maki-e lacquerware with classic motifs, telling stories from Japanese culture, nature, and symbolism in 18 unique designs. The "Sakura Uta" ("Song of the Cherry Blossoms") model is inspired by the 17th-century Rimpa style and features delicate floral elements, permanently protected and enhanced by a clear Urushi lacquer coating.

Crafted from a single piece of aluminum using a sophisticated deep-drawing process ("press drawing"), this fountain pen impresses with its lightness, robustness, and seamless design. Its compact, elegant form fits perfectly in the hand, making it the ideal everyday companion or a special gift.
