MKS 77200 Battery Change Tool Set – Professional Tool Set for Battery Replacement | Meikosha, Made in Japan

Original watchmaker's tools from MKS (Meikosha) – regularly unavailable in Europe (except from us).

The Battery Change Tool Set 77200 from the long-established manufacturer Meikosha (MKS) in Nagoya contains all the tools required for professional battery changes on wristwatches – assembled in the same way that has been standard in Japanese watchmaking workshops for decades:

Strong case holder (強力保持器) with spindle mechanism – securely fixes the watch without damage, even with the strap attached
Two-claw case opener (Kojiake-type) for snap-on and press-fit case backs
Watchmaker's loupe (Kizumi) to clamp into the eye
Precision screwdriver
Tweezers
Precisely fitting toolbox for dust-free storage

What distinguishes this set from European counterparts:

MKS/Meikosha from Nagoya is the traditional tool supplier to the Japanese watch industry, used by most watchmakers and manufacturers – comparable to the role Bergeon plays in Switzerland. Even part of the official SEIKO tool program is manufactured by Meikosha; whoever buys MKS gets the workshop quality with which Japanese calibers are handled ex-factory.

The difference to the alternatives common in Europe lies at both ends of the market: inexpensive battery change sets from Far Eastern mass production (10–20 €) achieve neither the precision nor the material quality of this Japanese professional set – especially the case holder and opener determine whether a case back can be opened without scratches. Swiss professional sets from Bergeon, on the other hand, cost many times more (the Bergeon 7812 Quick Service Set typically costs over 300 €). The MKS 77200 offers genuine workshop quality "Made in Japan" at a fraction of this price – and the two-claw opener and holder are specially adapted to the case back constructions of Japanese watches (SEIKO, Citizen, Orient, Casio), for which European openers often only approximately fit.
