Finally, a watch for everyone who has been wanting a larger case diameter!

The same idiosyncratic calendar construction as in Orient's classic models – but translated here into a large-format tool case with a compass bezel, inner rotating ring, and 100-meter pressure resistance.

The case back is embossed with ORIENT WATCH CO., LTD., the model designation EU03-C1 CA, the serial number 710768, as well as the specifications WR-10BAR and ALL ST.STEEL. Additionally, it bears the note ASSEMBLED IN CHINA.

The Multi-Year Calendar in a sporty design

The Multi-Year Calendar is Orient’s most distinctive complication. Instead of a rotating date ring, the watch uses fixed printed segment scales: in the upper dial area, the months are listed in columns, with a hand running across a year scale below; in the lower area, there is a day-of-the-week table with date numbers. From their combination, the day of the week can be determined for any given date.

What distinguishes this version from the classic models is the packaging. Orient has placed the complication here in a 46-millimeter case with a dual control level: on the outside, a bezel with a full degree scale and cardinal directions; on the inside, a ring with a minute and color scale that can be adjusted via a second crown. Together with 100-meter pressure resistance, this results in a watch that views the calendar not as a dress-watch detail, but as an instrument function.

The dial indicates the automatic movement with 21 jewels.

Design

On the silver dial, the month and year sector are positioned at the top, the day-of-the-week sector at the bottom, and a framed date window at 3 o'clock. The dial is surrounded by a black chapter ring with luminous dots, which visually frames the display and gives it depth.

The gold-colored applied indices and the bold sword hands filled with luminous material ensure that the time remains instantly readable even in low light – despite the densely printed calendar scales. The second hand features an open arrowhead.

The knurled outer bezel can be rotated with noticeable resistance and features the cardinal directions N, E, S, and W in addition to the degree graduation. On the right flank of the case are a pusher and two crowns: the top one for the inner rotating ring, the bottom one for time and calendar settings. The watch comes with the original stainless steel bracelet.

Dating

The case back bears the model code EU03-C1 and the number 710768, but no serial number that can be dated according to a publicly documented system. The year scale on the calendar dial and the model generation suggest production in the 2000s.

The case back indicates the watch was assembled in China. We explicitly state this here because Orient models are often broadly marketed as Japanese-made; the design and movement come from Orient, but the assembly was not performed in Japan.

Condition

The dial is flawless: all scales are printed completely and sharply, the luminous material on the hands and indices is evenly preserved, and there are no spots or discolorations. The crystal is clear and without distracting scratches.

Clear signs of wear are visible on the compass bezel, particularly on the knurled outer edge, as well as on the polished case flanks. The steel bracelet shows visible scratches and scuff marks on several links. The case back is slightly scratched, though the embossing remains fully legible.

Both crowns and the pusher are fully present and operate cleanly; the bezel rotates with defined resistance. The watch runs in automatic operation.

This is a used item. The limitation period for claims for defects under the statutory warranty is 12 months from delivery.

The original WR-10BAR marking refers to the watch in its new condition. Due to the age and the untested seals, no current water resistance is guaranteed. To protect the movement, the watch should not come into contact with water or moisture.
