Outline GMT-1960 (Pepsi Black) Limited Edition
OUTLINE - Watches with character, created by one of Japan's most influential watch experts, Yoshimasa Kikuchi
Behind OUTLINE stands none other than Yoshimasa Kikuchi – publisher of Japan's leading watch magazines such as Power Watch, LowBEAT, and Time Gear. For decades, he accompanied, tested, and described the watch world – until he decided to realize his vision himself. With OUTLINE, he builds watches that breathe the spirit of the 1940s to 1960s: a homage to the golden age of mechanics, stylishly interpreted for today.
The name says it all – OUTLINE stands for clear lines, timeless style and what makes a watch: character, history and quality.
The new GMT-1960 – a tribute to the second generation of the 1960s
Following the success of the first GMT watch, the GMT-1950 , OUTLINE now presents the GMT-1960 – a further development that is stylistically based on the second generation of classic GMT watches from the 1960s.
In addition to the popular Pepsi design with a blue and red bezel, the model is now also available with an all -black aluminum bezel combined with a black dial. This version recalls the design first introduced in the 1960s.
While the GMT-1950 focused on the aesthetics of the early 1950s, the GMT-1960 deliberately captures the atmosphere of the second generation . The previously Bakelite-like bezel has been replaced with a classic aluminum insert, the colors of which were carefully chosen to reflect the slightly faded look of the era.
The GMT-1960 is available in the following versions:
- Black dial with Pepsi bezel
- Ivory dial with Pepsi bezel
- Black dial with full black bezel (new)
Technical heart: Miyota caliber 9075
Like its predecessor, the GMT-1960 uses the high-quality Caliber 9075 of the Miyota 9000 series – an automatic GMT movement from Citizen. This movement offers a unique feature that only a few GMT watches offer:
The hour hand can be adjusted independently , just like the famous Rolex GMT-Master II .
This feature makes the GMT-1960 the ideal travel watch : When changing to another time zone, the hour hand is simply adjusted, while the home time remains legible via the GMT hand. This is especially practical when traveling or on business flights – a true feature for globetrotters.
What does “independently adjustable hour hand” mean?
For clarity: GMT watches allow the simultaneous display of two time zones—usually the home time and the local time at the destination. There are two different technical concepts:
1. Travel GMT (independently adjustable hour hand)
With the caliber 9075 – as used in the GMT-1960 – the hour hand can be adjusted separately without affecting the minutes or the GMT hand. This allows for convenient adjustment of the local time while traveling. The home time remains legible via the GMT hand – just like in the current Rolex GMT-Master II.
Ideal for frequent travelers – hence also known as “Travel-GMT” .
2. Office GMT (independently adjustable GMT hand)
One example is the Seiko caliber NH34 . Here, the hour hand remains fixed at home time, while the GMT hand can be adjusted separately , for example, to track the time in another country—perfect for international communication in everyday office life.
Practical for everyday use – hence also known as “Office GMT” .

super
100%+100%=200%
