With OUTLINE, he translates the style of iconic timepieces from the 1940s to the 1970s into wearable watches for today – deliberately in small series, with great attention to proportions, details, and authenticity.

The fourth TiCTAC collaboration and OUTLINE's first "true" Travel GMT

The long-awaited fourth installment of the collaboration between OUTLINE and the select shop TiCTAC is the Outline GMT-1950. It is OUTLINE's first Japanese-assembled mechanical watch with a full GMT function – and limited to just 200 pieces in total.

The inspiration is a legendary pilot's watch from the 1950s, which is still considered the epitome of a GMT watch today. OUTLINE not only adopts the look but also the spirit of this early era: compact size, slim profile, and a bezel that is immediately recognizable.

The "Pepsi" bezel with a Bakelite look

The heart of the design is the blue and red Pepsi bezel, which distinguishes between day and night. OUTLINE deliberately chose colors that are not gaudy, but rather tuned them to appear slightly warm and subtly "vintage".

The construction of the bezel is special: the surface is covered with transparent plastic – a tribute to extremely early GMT models, whose bezels were made of a transparent synthetic resin (Bakelite look). This coating precisely provides a deep, almost glassy color that cannot be achieved with classic aluminum inlays.

Miyota 9075: GMT like the GMT-Master II

Inside, the Miyota Caliber 9075 (9000 series) is at work – a modern automatic movement with an independently adjustable hour hand. This is the crucial point. For travel, this is ideal: when the crown is pulled, the hour hand can be quickly and independently adjusted in 1-hour increments without changing the minutes. The home time remains readable via the GMT hand.

This makes the GMT-1950 a true Travel GMT – particularly practical for frequent travelers changing time zones.

White dial and the famous riveted stretch bracelet

This variant with a white dial is reminiscent of early GMT interpretations from the 1950s and appears particularly classic. A real highlight is also included: the faithfully designed, famous riveted stretch bracelet in rivet style – a tribute to the legendary 1950s bracelets that are immediately associated with the vintage world. This very bracelet contributes strongly to the distinctive retro charm of the watch.
