Behind OUTLINEstands none other than Yoshimasa Kikuchi – publisher of Japan's leading watch magazines such as Power Watch, LowBEAT, and Time Gear. For decades, he accompanied, tested, and described the watch world – until he decided to realize his vision himself. With OUTLINE, he builds watches that breathe the spirit of the 1940s to 1960s: a homage to the golden age of mechanics, stylishly interpreted for today.

Exceptional commemorative models were released to mark the fifth anniversary. The first is the turquoise version of the 369 Blue Special, which was released in November 2022 and quickly sold out. For the first time in two years, only 50 pieces were produced for the fifth anniversary. The honeycomb pattern on the Outline 369 Honeycomb Turquoise is a Gutierrez decoration that Rolex used on its Explorer models in the 1950s and is considered a rare and special detail today.

In addition, the indexes are applied in a wedge shape (three-dimensional) as in the 1940s, and the hand is deliberately matte, which gives the watch a vintage touch.

The automatic movement is the 9000 series caliber 9039, the flagship model from Miyota, a Citizen movement manufacturer. It is the thinnest and most powerful Japanese movement, with a vibration frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour.
