Rare item: Citizen Ring Watch Parawater (Ref. 6700-673280-KA)
An extraordinary and extremely rare ladies' wristwatch in the form of a ring — the Citizen Ring Watch Parawater , an iconic design object from the early 1970s that combines Japanese engineering and avant-garde jewelry design.
Historical background
The Citizen Ring Watch was introduced in the early 1970s as part of a small series of innovative women's models that combined watchmaking with jewelry design.
With this line, Citizen wanted to push the boundaries of classic watch design: instead of being worn on the wrist, the watch was worn like a ring – a technical masterpiece given the miniaturization limitations of the time.
The model bears the engraving “Parawater” , Citizen’s name for their early waterproof technology, introduced as early as 1959 – the first Japanese waterproof watch ever.
The combination of faceted bezel , iridescent crystal dial and precise hand-wound movement (caliber 6700) makes this watch a collector's item with cult status.
Such models were mostly sold only on the Japanese domestic market (JDM) and are now extremely rare even in Japan.

Description
This Citizen Ring Watch is more than just a watch – it's a piece of design history.
The iridescent dial shimmers in shades of pink, violet, blue and green depending on the angle of the light, creating a fascinating contrast to the faceted bezel, which reflects the light like a gemstone.
The miniature crown on the side allows for manual winding of the precise caliber 6700, which runs reliably despite its tiny size. The watch is fully functional , and its timekeeping is stable.
These models were sold exclusively in Japan and are now considered an absolute rarity on the European market.
Collector's value and significance
The Citizen Ring Watch Parawater represents Citizen's experimental spirit of the 1970s.
In design circles, it is considered an icon of the Japanese "wearable art" concept – an early example of functional jewelry with a clockwork mechanism.
Only a few examples have survived outside Japan, and functioning units in good condition are now highly sought after.
