Rarity: King Seiko Hi-Beat 5625-7111 Full Set – March 1973 – virtually untouched collector's condition

Rarity: King Seiko Hi-Beat 5625-7111 Full Set – March 1973 – virtually untouched collector's condition

There are watches that are beautiful.
And there are watches that are practically impossible to find today.

This King Seiko 5625-7111 clearly belongs to the second category.

A completely preserved Full Set from the golden age of Japanese watchmaking: original box, outer box, manual ("King Seiko Calendar"), original price tag with ¥25,000 as well as the original KS-signed buckle (the latter is extremely rare and even in heavily used condition, costs well over EUR 200 in Japan alone). In this combination and condition, such a set is an absolute exception even on the Japanese market today.

The watch dates from March 1973 – a time when King Seiko was at the peak of its development. The 56KS series was the last great mechanical line before the quartz revolution and is considered by collectors to be one of the most balanced and wearable King Seiko generations ever.

The case is a prime example of King Seiko's clear, precise design language: sharp edges, clean surfaces, perfect proportions. With a diameter of 36.2 mm, a height of 10.3 mm and 41.5 mm lug-to-lug, the watch wears just as convincingly today as it did over 50 years ago – elegant, present and at the same time pleasantly flat.

The silver dial is exceptionally well preserved. The applied indices and hands show exactly the fine, almost architectural precision for which King Seiko is famous. Especially noteworthy: The crystal is immaculate, which has become rare for vintage models of this class.

The original KS-signed crown is naturally present – a detail that has been lost on many examples over the decades.

The Heart: Caliber 5625 – Hi-Beat Precision

Inside works the automatic Seiko Caliber 5625, one of the most technically interesting King Seiko movements of its time.

With 28,800 vibrations per hour (Hi-Beat), it belongs to the fast-oscillating generation of mechanical movements that were developed for particularly stable accuracy. The movement is flat, robust and at the same time finely adjustable – a combination that makes the 56KS series one of the most popular King Seiko lines among collectors to this day.

25 jewels, automatic winding mechanism and the classic date function make this movement a perfect all-rounder between technical sophistication and everyday usability.

Why this example is special

The crucial point is not just the watch itself – but the totality.

A Full Set of this quality means:

• Authenticity
• significantly higher collector appeal
• long-term stable value development
• extremely rare offer even in Japan

While many King Seiko watches are traded as "watch only" today, this set documents the original condition almost completely – down to the original sales price.

Especially against the background of the currently strongly increasing demand for King Seiko models, such a piece is not only aesthetically appealing, but also highly interesting from a collector's perspective.
