This elegant Seiko Sportsmatic Deluxe, reference 7619-9000, is an authentic example of classic Seiko automatic models from the 1960s. Dating from June 1966 , it combines fine craftsmanship, technical expertise, and the understated charm typical of the brand from that era.
Design & Character
The silver sunburst dial features the characteristic Seiko Sportsmatic 5 Deluxe logo with applied indices and faceted dauphine hands. The rectangular day-date window at 3 o'clock is framed and ensures clear legibility.
The stainless steel case displays the typical design of the mid-1960s – angular, elegant, and robust. The screw-down case back features the familiar Seiko dolphin emblem with the engraving WATER PROOF – a reference to the splash-proof design of the time, which is now valued as a distinctive vintage detail.
The fitted original black Seiko leather strap with Seiko embossing and classic pin buckle underlines the authentic overall impression.

Background & technical significance
The Caliber 7619 was a further development of the proven 7606 movement and was used from 1965 onwards. It combined an improved automatic winding unit with Seiko's patented Magic Lever winding technology and a quick date change via the crown.
