Seiko Clock Hello Kitty Talking Alarm Clock JF386A - Character Alarm Clock with three alarm voices - original packaging

A Hello Kitty figure alarm clock by Seiko Clock that doesn’t beep, but speaks – and allows you to choose between three different wake-up messages. New and in its original box, imported directly from Japan.

Important: The alarm clock speaks Japanese. All announcements are in Kitty's original voice in Japanese; the packaging and user manual are exclusively in Japanese. Operation (time, alarm time, volume, message selection) is self-explanatory.

The three wake-up messages

According to the packaging, there are three options to choose from – translated as follows:

• Message A: "Hello! I'm Kitty. Are you still sleeping? Kitty gets angry at such a sleepyhead!"
• Message B: "Good morning! This is Kitty's wake-up call. Wake up, wake up, quick!"
• Message C: "Yawn… good morning. Kitty is still tired too, but now let’s pull ourselves together and get up! Heave-ho, heave-ho!"

If the message is stopped, Kitty will call out again after five minutes (snooze function). When the alarm is turned off for good, she says goodbye with, "Have fun today, do your best!". The volume is adjustable.

Sanrio and the talking alarm clock

Hello Kitty appeared in 1974 and has been the most famous character from the house of Sanrio for half a century. Unlike many licensed characters, her presence in Japan has not remained a matter for children, but spans all age groups and product categories.

The talking alarm clock is a distinct product category in Japan: instead of a signal tone, the character's voice provides the wake-up call. Seiko Clock has offered such figure clocks as part of their regular range for many years – this model is an official Sanrio license (© 2024 Sanrio Co., Ltd.), distributed by the Seiko Watch Corporation and released exclusively for the Japanese market.

Design

The figure is fully sculpted and sitting, featuring the characteristic red bow on her left ear. She holds the clock face in a light blue ring in front of her – white with blue digits in a child-friendly font and pink minute markers.
