SEIKO Kagayaki Chronograph – Hokuriku Shinkansen W7 Series

This limited SEIKO chronograph edition was released in 2024 to mark the extension of the Hokuriku Shinkansen line to Tsuruga and is dedicated to the W7 Shinkansen "Kagayaki" (かがやき = "Radiance / Brilliance"). The watch combines modern chronograph technology with Japanese design symbolism and consistently adopts the form and color language of the high-speed train.

The limitation to 2,024 pieces deliberately refers to the release year 2024. Each piece is individually numbered; this item bears number 0795 / 2024. The watch is in absolutely like-new condition – the protective film on the case back is still present.

Design & Artistic Background

The W7 Shinkansen embodies the concept of
“和の伝統美を未来へつなぐ” – connecting Japanese tradition with modern technology.

This leitmotif is clearly reflected in the dial design:

• Blue symbolizes the sky and sea along the Hokuriku region
• White represents Japanese elegance, tranquility, and precision
• Gold/Copper tones adopt the color palette of traditional Japanese metal and copper crafts (銅器・嵌細工)
• The fine patterns and accents deliberately evoke the movement, speed, and light reflections of the high-speed train

The heavily engraved stainless steel back displays the W7 logo and the individual edition number.
