Seiko LM (Lord Matic) 5606-7310 – October 1974, Suwa Seikosha
Seiko LM (Lord Matic) 5606-7310 – October 1974, Suwa Seikosha
A beautiful and technically and historically significant automatic watch from the late production phase of the legendary Seiko Lord Matic series. This example, serial number 404270, dates from October 1974 and was manufactured in the Suwa factory , known for its precise and robust calibers.
The watch was fully serviced by a master watchmaker in early 2025 and is in excellent working order. The automatic movement runs precisely, the date changes cleanly, and the quick-set function works perfectly. The movement, case, and dial are original and unpolished.
The dial impresses with its characteristic color gradient from gold to brown (so-called “Sunburst Gradient” ), with gold-colored indices and hands, giving the watch a distinctive 1970s look.

Historical context
The Seiko Lord Matic series was introduced in 1968 as the upper class of Seiko automatic models, positioned below King Seiko and Grand Seiko .
The LM models combined precise manufacturing, elegant design and innovative automatic movements such as the Calibre 5606 , which was technically leading with its quick-set date function and automatic day/date switching.
The 5606-7310 was one of the last models before the LM series was discontinued in the mid-1970s – a transitional piece between classic Japanese watchmaking and the beginning of the quartz age.
