Iconic Japanese precision watch with 36,000 vibrations per hour, manufactured in November 1967
This Seiko Lord Marvel 36000 Ref. 5740-8000 is one of the most important milestones in Japanese watchmaking history. It was produced in July 1967 (serial number 7Nxxxx) and was Seiko's first production watch with a high-frequency (Hi-Beat) caliber .
The installed caliber 5740C beats at 36,000 semi-oscillations per hour and was a technical forerunner of the later Grand Seiko 45KS and 61GS movements.
The gold-plated stainless steel case (GP = Gold Plated) with its clean lines, the silver sunburst dial , and the slim , gold-plated dauphine hands give the watch a timeless, elegant appearance. The dial is in very good, clean condition; the case shows age-related wear on the lugs and sides, which, however, hardly detracts from the overall appearance.
It is fitted with a new original Seiko lizard leather strap , which perfectly matches the vintage character.
