Seiko Lord Matic 5606-5170 (November 1974)

This elegant and rare Seiko Lord Matic (Ref. 5606-5170) from November 1974 is distinguished by its striking, geometrically faceted crystal , which perfectly reflects the characteristic style of the early 1970s. Condition

The dial is original, iridescent, with a uniform color. The case shows signs of wear. The crystal is well preserved, the bevels are clearly visible all around. The movement runs smoothly, and the date mechanism functions correctly.

Historical background

The Lord Matic series was positioned from 1968 onwards as an elegant, technically sophisticated mid-range watch between the King Seiko and the Seiko 5 Superior.
Models like the 5606-5110 represent Seiko's design transformation in the 1970s – towards bolder, architectural shapes and mirrored dials.
The caliber 5606 was also used in the higher-end King Seiko models and was considered precise, flat and easy to maintain.
