A classic representative of Seiko's high-end Lord-Matic line: This Seiko Lord Matic 23 Jewels (Ref. 5606-7130) from December 1969 combines an elegantly shimmering dial with the proven 56-series automatic movement – and comes on the sought-after original Seiko steel bracelet.
The Movement: It is powered by the Caliber 5606 from Seiko's Suwa factory – an automatic movement with additional hand-winding and hacking seconds, 23 jewels, 21,600 vph, and a bilingual day/date display (Kanji/English) with quick-set via the crown (push-set). It is one of the most produced and reliable mechanical Seiko movements of its time.
King Seiko and Grand Seiko Kinship: The Lord-Matic line was positioned by Seiko directly below King Seiko and Grand Seiko and shared the 56-series foundation with them: The same movement principle is found in the 56 King Seiko (5625/5626) and the 56 Grand Seiko (5645/5646). The lightning "S" on the dial refers to its production in the Suwa factory.
Aesthetics: The silver dial with a fine linen texture, applied faceted indices, applied "SEIKO" and "LM" logos, "Automatic / 23 Jewels" signature, and central seconds sits in a distinctively designed stainless steel cushion case – a typical, elegant LM appearance of the late 1960s.
Condition and Service: The watch is in good, original condition. The dial is clear and clean; the case shows typical scratches and scuffs on the surfaces from use, as does the clasp. It was professionally and completely serviced in Japan in spring 2026 (complete disassembly, cleaning, oiling, regulation – photographically documented) and acquired directly from the watchmaker; it runs perfectly. It comes on the original Seiko stainless steel bracelet with a signed "SEIKO W" clasp – a nice and valuable advantage for these models, as the original bracelet is often missing.

Despite the historical "Waterproof" engraving on the case back, this vintage watch is no longer waterproof; water resistance is not guaranteed. To protect the movement, the watch should not come into contact with water or moisture.
