Description
This elegant Seiko Lord Matic (Ref. 5606-7150) dates from October 1970 and is a classic example of Seiko's watch design of the early 1970s – functional, precise and technically advanced.
The Lord Matic (LM) series was produced from 1968 to 1977 and was positioned as a high-quality mid-range watch below the Grand Seiko and King Seiko lines. With its slim automatic movement , caliber 5606, it was among the technically best production watches of its time.

Historical background
The Lord Matic series was an important step in Seiko's development path: it introduced the Calibre 56xx – a precise, flat automatic movement that was also used in early Grand Seiko models.
The Caliber 5606 was innovative: it offered both manual winding and a stop-seconds function , which was exceptional even for Swiss brands in this price range at the time.
The design of the 5606-7150, with its clean, elliptical case, exemplifies the design language of the 1970s: functional, harmonious, and built for durability. These watches embody the self-confidence of Japanese watch design of that era – independent of Western models.
Today, the Lord Matic is considered a technically sophisticated collector's watch , whose movement is robust, precise and excellently serviceable.
