Seiko Lord Matic LM 5606-7150 – 23 Jewels – March 1972 – Day/Date, Suwa, serviced
Seiko Lord Matic LM 5606-7150 – 23 Jewels – March 1972 – Day/Date, Suwa, serviced
A superbly preserved example of the increasingly sought-after Lord-Matic line: a Seiko Lord Matic (LM) "23 Jewels", Ref. 5606-7150 from March 1972, in clear, sharp-edged super condition with a bilingual day/date display.
Lord Matic – the elegant step below King Seiko and Grand Seiko: Introduced in 1968, the Lord Matic took over the role of the affordable upper-class from the Lord Marvel and deliberately positioned itself directly below King Seiko and Grand Seiko. Notably, all three lines – Lord Matic, King Seiko, and Grand Seiko – shared the same Suwa movement architecture in the 56 series generation and differed primarily in accuracy standard and finishing. The LM Calibre 5606 was considered so successful that Seiko also used the 56 series base in automatic King Seiko (5625/5626) and Grand Seiko (5645/5646) models. The lightning "S" on the dial indicates manufacturing at the Suwa factory.
The movement: The Calibre 5606A is one of the slimmest automatic movements of its time at only 4.45 mm: 23 jewels, 21,600 vibrations/hour, automatic with additional manual winding and hacking seconds, bilingual day/date display (Japanese/English) with quick-set function and approximately 45 hours power reserve. A movement equipped with exceptional luxury for its segment in 1972. It was professionally and completely serviced in Japan in spring 2026 (complete disassembly, cleaning, oiling, regulation) and acquired directly from the watchmaker; it runs perfectly.
About the watch itself: The silver sunburst dial with applied, faceted baton indices (with fine dot markers), applied "SEIKO" logo and "LM 23 Jewels" signature is clean and high-contrast; the day/date window is at 3 o'clock. The sharp-edged stainless steel case back (opening via the glass) bears the reference 5606-7150 and the serial number 236424 / Japan J.
Condition: Superb condition with clear, well-defined edges and a clean dial. The watch comes with a new black leather strap (genuine leather, crocodile embossed).
Dimensions: Diameter approx. 37 mm (without crown), lug-to-lug 41.2 mm, height 9.6 mm, lug width 18 mm. Weight incl. strap approx. 49 g.

Note
This vintage watch is not (no longer) waterproof; water resistance is not guaranteed. To protect the movement and leather strap, the watch should not come into contact with water or moisture. Please do not operate the quick-set for day/date between approximately 9 PM and 3 AM, as the date mechanism of the 560x movements is sensitive during this time window.
