Seiko Presage HCC005J1 - Classic Series Craftsmanship Enamel Dial

The Seiko Presage HCC005 is a tribute to the 1913 Seiko Laurel – Japan's first wristwatch. The white enamel dial with the red 12, blued hands, and Breguet numerals directly adopts the historical design language and combines it with the modern precision of the Presage Classic Series.

The "Laurel" from 1913

The enamel dial is fired at high temperatures, which can result in small indentations, tiny dots, or a slightly irregular surface. These characteristics are typical features of genuine enamel and make each dial unique.

The enamel dial of the HCC005 is crafted by Japanese masters Mitsuru Yokosawa and Kazunori Uchiyama. Uchiyama refined his art over years under Yokosawa's guidance, and their combined expertise ensures the flawlessly white enamel finish that will last for generations. The manufacturing process requires exceptional precision: the two continuously adjust the composition of the enamel glaze to variations in temperature and humidity to achieve a perfect result.

Design and Craftsmanship

The white enamel dial features classic Breguet numerals, a red 12, and blued hands – a clear reference to the original 1913 Laurel. The sub-dial at 6 o'clock displays a 24-hour cycle and provides optical balance to the historical layout.

The stainless steel case is finished with a highly durable Super-Hard-Coating surface. A double-domed sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating on the inside ensures a clear view of the dial. The exhibition case back reveals the mechanical movement in full motion.

Inside, the automatic caliber 6R5H operates with manual winding capability and a hacking seconds function.
