Seiko Prospex SSC911P1 – Speedtimer Solar Chronograph
Seiko Prospex SSC911P1 – Speedtimer Solar Chronograph
A sporty, classic solar chronograph with Speedtimer DNA and a distinct motorsport aesthetic.
The Prospex Speedtimer series continues Seiko's chronograph tradition dating back to 1964 – from the Crown Chronograph to the legendary 1969 Speedtimer 6139, the world's first automatic chronograph with a column wheel and vertical clutch. The HBJ003P1 continues this lineage: a modern solar chronograph with clear readability, a two-tone tachymeter bezel, and a sporty green-and-black design, with hour and minute hands modeled after the 1969 original.
Design & Character
The green dial with black sub-dials creates a strong contrast and optimal legibility. The two-tone aluminum bezel with a tachymeter scale echoes the defining element of the historic Speedtimer and allows for the calculation of average speeds. The stainless steel case and robust steel bracelet give the watch a premium presence. Curved sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating on the inside ensures a clear view, while LumiBrite on the hands and indices provides readability in the dark. Practical for everyday use: the watch displays the solar cell's charge level at the touch of a button.
