This exceptional Seiko quartz pocket watch with the caliber 7N07 was manufactured in Japan and is part of a rare special edition presented by Seiko as an official gift to the Japanese Prime Minister (the "Prime Minister's Award"). It is a symbol of Japanese craftsmanship, precision, and formal elegance.

The gold-colored case with its classic hinged cover features the engraved Japanese Kiri-Mon coat of arms – the emblem of the Prime Minister – on the back, along with a dedicatory inscription in Japanese script. This special version combines functional precision with a prestigious character and was originally not available for purchase, but was awarded exclusively on official occasions.

Box and contents

The watch comes in its original, luxurious Seiko presentation box , which also features the golden Kiri-Mon crest on the lid.
The box is coated with Urushi lacquer (“漆塗り”) , a traditional Japanese lacquer technique that impresses with its deep gloss and exceptional durability.

The interior is lined with purple velvet and offers a perfectly fitting compartment for a watch and necklace.

The set includes:

  • Original warranty card (issued in 1994 at Seibu Department Store, Tokyo)
  • Instructions for use of the 7N07 caliber
  • Original chain in gold look
  • Original box (Urushi lacquer, lined in violet)

The box measures approximately 13 × 17.5 × 4.2 cm .

Design and background

The watch adopts the classic look of traditional 20th-century Japanese pocket watches, but combines it with modern quartz technology. The minimalist dial with Arabic numerals, the delicate shape of the hands, and the understated logo reflect the aesthetic of Japanese restraint ("Shibui").

The gold-colored hinged cover bearing the government crest lends the watch a prestigious air. The Kiri-Mon symbol has represented state authority in Japan for centuries and is used only in special contexts – making this watch a historically significant collector's item.

Condition

The watch is in very good, almost unworn condition . The original protective sticker on the back is still present.
The watch movement runs precisely, all functions work perfectly. Box, chain, instructions and warranty card are all included.

This is a used item. The limitation period for claims based on defects (statutory warranty) is 12 months from delivery.
