Watch grease S-3 comes from the official SEIKO lubricant program – the oils and greases that SEIKO specifies for servicing its own calibers. As a grease (not oil), S-3 is intended for the heavily stressed, slowly moving friction points of the movement where a thin oil would be squeezed out: winding and hand-setting mechanisms (yoke, clutch, setting lever), mainspring barrel areas, and similar sliding surfaces.

S-3 is the grease from exactly this system. One jar is sufficient for many overhauls when used sparingly.

What distinguishes this product from European counterparts:

The European standard consists of Swiss Moebius lubricants – excellent products, but with their own specification logic. Those who overhaul Japanese calibers according to SEIKO factory documentation work more consistently with the SEIKO lubricant system: the Technical Guides reference SEIKO's own oils and greases, and S-3 is tailored to the materials and tolerances of SEIKO movements. The original SEIKO lubricant program is not regularly available in Europe.
