Historical background The "Super" series was introduced in 1957 and was a crucial step in Seiko's development into a fully-fledged, world-class watch manufacturer. This model was the first to utilize Seiko's own, more precise shock protection system ("Diashock") and a robust movement that formed the basis for later calibers such as those in the "Crown" and "Grand Seiko" lines.
State of preservation This particular example is completely original, including the characteristic "S" crown and the gold-tone dauphine hands. The dial displays a fine, even patina of age without any significant damage – a feature highly valued by collectors for its authenticity. The new leather strap complements the classic design beautifully.
