This exceptional Seiko Unique dates from July 1957, placing it in the formative early period of Japanese wristwatch development. Models like this mark the transition from simple post-war watches to the technically and aesthetically increasingly sophisticated Seiko lines that later culminated in icons such as Marvel, Crown, King Seiko, and Grand Seiko.

The Unique is not a marginal model, but a central component of this development. It was manufactured in particular by Daini Seikosha and is exemplary of the early internal competition within the Seiko group – a competition that later directly led to the creation of King Seiko and Grand Seiko. For collectors, the Unique is therefore a historically very interesting model from the "pre-phase" of the major Seiko lines.

This particular example impresses with its particularly harmonious and elegant appearance. The silver-colored dial with warm aged patina harmonizes perfectly with the applied gold-colored Arabic numerals at 12, 3, 6, and 9, as well as the fine indices. The slender gold-colored hands and the strongly domed Plexiglas give the watch exactly that classic vintage appeal sought after in early Seiko models. The finely proportioned stainless steel case with its curved lugs further emphasizes its elegant character.
