Echizen Urushi – 9000 Years of Lacquer Tradition

Echizen Urushi originates from the Echizen region in Fukui Prefecture and is one of Japan's oldest lacquer traditions.
The lacquer is made from the sap of the Urushi tree and applied in extremely thin layers. Each layer must dry completely before the next is applied – a process that can take months.

The Sakura Zukiyo is made from ABS and built up in numerous layers with Echizen Urushi.
Each layer is carefully applied, dried, polished, and refined again – a process that demands the highest precision.

The fountain pen is well-balanced in the hand and offers a comfortable, controlled writing experience.
