The Temari ball is a traditional Japanese gift that has symbolized true friendship, connection, and loyalty for centuries. Parents gave Temari to their children on New Year's Day as a sign that their relationship and protection would last forever.

The Dream Pen Temari takes up this symbolism:

The design features a Temari in overlapping gold and orange tones, which stand out intensely against the deep black, silky Urushi lacquer. Traditional yet vibrant – a motif that exudes warmth and elegance.

Echizen Urushi – 9000 Years of Lacquer Tradition

Echizen Urushi originates from the Echizen region in Fukui Prefecture and is one of Japan's oldest lacquer traditions.
The lacquer is obtained from the sap of the Urushi tree and applied in extremely thin layers. Each layer must dry completely before the next one is applied – a process that can take months.
