History and tradition:
Atlantic Watches was founded in 1888 in Bettlach, Switzerland, by Eduard Kummer, a pioneer of Swiss watchmaking. Kummer honed his skills in the Jura region and founded a company that quickly became the core of the Swiss watch industry. By 1888, the first workshop employed 15 to 20 people, and by the end of the 19th century, the workforce had grown to 720.
Despite its traditional values, Kummer focused on innovation. In 1937, Atlantic was one of the first companies to introduce paid vacation, representing social progress. Originally known as EKB (Eduard Kummer Bettlach), Atlantic initially manufactured parts for renowned brands such as Longines and Certina. In 1932, the first Atlantic watch with a sextant logo was presented, including one of the first waterproof chronographs.
In 1960, the invention of the "Speed Switch" revolutionized watchmaking by significantly accelerating the date change. The flagship models of the "Worldmaster" family established themselves as a brand and continue to stand for quality and timeless design.
A tribute to timeless craftsmanship, the Worldmaster 1888 Automatic Moonphase Chronograph embodies the pinnacle of precision and elegance. This exceptional timepiece is limited to just 88 exclusive pieces and is now available in a yellow gold PVD case that underscores its luxurious appeal.
At the heart of the watch beats the esteemed ETA Valjoux 7751 automatic movement, a masterpiece of Swiss engineering renowned for its exceptional accuracy and reliability. The moon phase display and lunar cycle display are breathtakingly precise.
The case back is transparent and offers a fascinating view of the mechanical perfection.
The Worldmaster 1888 is more than just a watch, it is a symbol of watchmaking, crafted for collectors who appreciate tradition, innovation and timeless elegance.
